I had mine for 2 or 3 years now. Perfect for my canoe, fishing raft, and Jon boat. I use an old phone and tablet for screens. Works as good as some of my past fish finders.

I am a serious fisherman, I fish for striped bass from my kayak and from shore, fly fish and troll for brook trout and salmon and ice fish for lake trout. This little unit is a great tool. I first used it for jigging through the ice for lake trout in 35′ of water. I could see my jig (if I used a larger sized jig, small ones dissapeared) and watch as fish came in to check it out. Once spring came, I used it to mark suspended salmon during ice out trolling. Worked great trolled a few feet behind the boat. Good bottom definition and marked fish clearly. This summer I have been using it when I am vertical jigging for suspended stripers in water from 30-150 ft. It has worked great and has shown me exactly where the fish are holding and where to focus in the water column. I really like the portability and versatility. My only complaint is the 4 hour battery life. On an all day trip you have to make sure to pull the tpod when not necessary to save life.

Performs well in cold waters! Even says in the description battery life is about 4 hours.
Tried it in the pond, after playing with the gain got it going good. Going to try it on the ice this weekend for spotting. Probably not ideal for what we’re using it for if you’ve got the money. Cough up for the actual ice vexilar, but If you need a budget, this should do the trick. A pond is mostly ice and it performed well in 33° water. Can’t wait to use it shoreline fishing in summer!

Eyes underneath the water. Great sonarphone. Very portable. Very easy to use. Always have it with me now to check out new spots. It shows where the fish are and their surroundings. I use it most to check depth and dropoffs.
