Vantage Vue Weather Station & WeatherLink Live
Davis Intruments has bundled the Vantage Vue Wireless Weather Station and the WeatherLink LIVE together.
Made in the USA, the Vantage Vue includes a sleek but tough outdoor sensor array and a distinctive LCD console. Its unique Weather Center function provides additional information on each weather variable.
WeatherLink LIVE provides fast, reliable and seamless technology for monitoring and sharing your weather data from the Vantage Vue weather station. The LIVE hub wirelessly receives the data, then transmits the data via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable connection to the WeatherLink Cloud. You may view your weather data for FREE at WeatherLink.com or from the WeatherLink App for mobile devices with the Basic tier subscription. The free Basic personal webpage provides viewing of current conditions, such as; temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed/direction, rainfall and much more. Weather data uploads to WeatherLink.com every 1 minute. Weather data uploads to 3rd party weather reporting services, such as; Weather Underground, CWOP and GLOBE every 15 minutes.
Two two key factors set the Vantage Vue apart from most other complete weather stations, the refresh rate and the transmission distance:
- Refresh Rate – A packet of data is sent from the outdoor transmitter to the receiver every 2 1/2 seconds! This means when you look out the window and see the wind blowing, the weather station will reflect it almost immediately.
- Transmission Distance – Line of sight range is 1000′. Typical range under most conditions is 300′ to 500′. This is a much greater distance than most other professional units
The Davis Vantage Vue also uses the same frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio technology as the Vantage Pro2 to wirelessly send data up to 1,000 feet and provides weather updates from the outdoor integrated sensor suite to the indoor console every 2.5 seconds.
With the indoor console’s Weather Center feature, Vantage Vue provides extensive additional information for each weather variable. These include daily highs and lows, temperature changes by the hour, air pressure changes and astronomical data such as moon phase and meteor showers. Additional consoles can be purchased for placement in other areas of your home such as a den, bedroom or backyard.
To make viewing weather data easier at night, Davis designed the Vantage Vue console with an easy-to-read backlit LCD display with a glow-in-the-dark keypad. A data collecting device in its own right, the console’s built in sensors provide indoor temperature and humidity as well as barometric pressure measurements.
The Vantage Vue’s outdoor Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) is energized by a solar panel during the day and stored energy for power at night, making it an ideal product or gift for the “green” consumer. To ensure product longevity, the ISS sensor electronics are sealed for added protection from the elements. The assembly is even cyclic corrosion tested to simulate harsh environments such as heat, humidity and seaside conditions.
